Unisoft delivers an interface to the DocMan EDT (Electronic Document Transfer) to Mid Cheshire Hospitals

Leighton Hospital in Crewe has implemented Unisoft’s DocMan interface, which integrates seamlessly with the GI Reporting Tool.

The interface provides a facility for electronically sending GI endoscopy reports, including the images, to the GPs using XML without any user input at all.  It also includes a screen to administer the DocMan messages, preview, add additional notes, view historical messages and the ability to resend.

Four standalone USB Image Capture Kits delivered to East and North Hertfordshire Hospitals

The Lister Hospital in Stevenage and the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Welwyn Garden City purchased four of Unisoft’s USB boxes so they could capture images and incorporate them in their own, in-house developed, Endoscopy Reporting System.

The boxes were supplied with the cables that link the trigger signal to the SCV port on the Olympus equipment.  This allows the capture of the images to be triggered from the endoscope – usually button 4.

Another Ramsay Hospital takes the GI Reporting Tool

This is the Oaks Hospital near Colchester and brings to 13 the number of Ramsay Hospital using Unisoft.  They ordered the GI Reporting Tool with a USB Image Capture box.

The advantage to the USB box at this hospital is that, as the Olympus endoscopy equipment can be wheeled to any one of three theatres, they only need the one USB box.  This then gets plugged into the specific PC in the theatre.  Previously with the PCI video card they would have needed to purchase three of the cards – one for each PC.

Unisoft delivers 50 USB Image Capture Kits to Northern Ireland

Unisoft’s GI Reporting tool has been used in eight hospitals in Northern Ireland since being first introduced at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast in September 2005.

In 2010 the province made a strategic decision to incorporate an Endoscopy Reporting Module into their Regional Theatre Management System, as provided via BT by Newgate Technology.   The one thing Newgate were unable to supply was a digital Image Capture with their newly developed software, so Unisoft was asked to help out.

Unisoft carried out a survey of all 17 hospitals carrying out Endoscopy over a 4 day period to confirm the specific requirements. Once that was established we supplied in March 2011 more than 50 USB Image Capture Kits, as part of a six figure contract, to be rolled out with the new product over the next 2 years.

Unisoft Endoscopy Reporting Tools installed at three East Kent Hospitals

The GI and Bronchoscopy Reporting Tools were installed at the Kent and Canterbury Hospital, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital in Margate and the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford as part of the East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust.

The software came with an HL7 interface to iSOFT’s PAS and six USB Image Capture kits.

The scheduler is now in use in 7 Trusts covering 14 hospitals.  You can see which these are by clicking  http://unisoftmedical.co.uk/uk_product_installations_product_view_gis.asp

Unisoft awarded contract to supply 9 Acute Trusts in the Republic of Ireland.

In July 2010 the Health Service Executive (HSE) awarded the first contract, under a multi-supplier framework, for an Endoscopy Clinical Information System to Unisoft.  The contract is to supply Unisoft’s GI Reporting Tool and Bronchoscopy Reporting Tool to nine acute hospitals in the Republic of Ireland.  These will add to the almost 200 hospitals already using Unisoft’s software throughout Scotland, Wales, England and Northern Ireland.

The HSE has capitalised on the benefits of choosing a single supplier for such an important contract.  Apart from economies of scale, the patients and their GPs will benefit greatly with endoscopy reports being printed immediately the procedures have been completed. And because everything will be in a single database significant service improvements can be made across the republic once regional and local audits have been carried out.

The first installation will be at Cork University Hospital in November 2010 and the remaining eight will be installed over the following six months.

Co-incidentally, Unisoft also received an order for its GI Reporting Tool from the private UPMC Beacon Hospital in Dublin.  This order includes a two way PAS interface to their Meditech system and three image capture kits.  Installation is scheduled for October 2010.
