In March 2007 Unisoft applications were installed at the Nobles Hospital, Isle of Man, the new University Hospital, Coventry (on the Walsgrave site) and the National Program for Organ Transplantation in Tripoli, Libya.
At the Nobles Hospital they purchased our Bronchoscopy, Cystoscopy and GI Reporting Tools with four Image Capture kits and Transcribe (for transferring EndoScribe reports into the GI Reporting Tool). The PAS interface will follow later. The Isle of Man has the tightest of controls over PCs installed on government premises and so our first trip was purely to get the SQL Server version of our software installed. Once the installation has been firmly bedded-in Unisoft will return to offer the training.
The new University Hospital on the Walsgrave site is a PFI site. Therefore Unisoft had to submit a tender, attend a demonstration of the software, then have an order raised and the software installed - all within two weeks. The installation was carried out on the Friday following the BSG by Chris Blyth. The order was for our GI and Bronchoscopy Reporting Tools, the GI scheduler, six Image Capture kits and an ODBC PAS interface. The installation also includes the Hospital of St Cross, Rugby. Training will begin during May 07.
The GI Reporting Tool and an Image Capture kit was installed for the National Program for Organ Transplantation in Tripoli, Libya. Dr Ali Aboutwerat, who previously worked at Manchester Royal Infirmary, was instrumental in acquiring the software on behalf of the Head of Surgery and Coordinator of the program, Professor E F Ehtuish. The installation was carried out by Unisoft's Steve Rainey. Steve was more than just impressed with the National Health Service in Libya - the country is committed to providing the levels of care comparable to those found in the west.
Unisoft also received orders for another 9 hospitals. By far the largest was for NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde in Scotland. This covers all six hospitals in the existing North and South Glasgow Divisions - Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Gartnavel General Hospital, Stobhill Hospital, The Western Infirmary, Victoria Infirmary and Southern General Hospital. Site licences have been purchased for the GI and Bronchoscopy Reporting Tools and interfaces to the iSoft PAS in the North Division and Meditech HISS in the south. 25 Image Capture kits will also be installed across the city with installation starting in April and training commencing in May 07.
Worcester Royal Infirmary and the Alexander Hospital, Redditch have jointly ordered the GI Reporting Tool with a PAS interface. Delivery and installation is expected to be in May 07.
One Day Medical Centre, in Leigh near Southend, have purchased the GI and Cystoscopy Reporting Tools, plus an Image Capture kit and a PAS interface to be installed when their new centre opens later in April 2007.
