Unisoft's "Export to EPR" routine feeds GI Reports to EPRs without user intervention

Exporting to the EPR is carried out by transferring the GI reports – either when they are saved or when they are printed – via intermediate files that then get imported into the EPR. This is done without any user intervention whatsoever.

First of all an Export template needs to be set up. The user begins by selecting the file format to be used for the export files. This can be CSV, TXT, PDF, Meditech, character delimited file or a specific format for Anglia Healthcare’s ICE.

A location for the export files is then specified, and this can either be a mapped drive or a UNC path.

A naming convention is then specified for these files which can be any permutation of unique identifier, case note number, surname, forename, date of birth, current date and time, report date and time and/or report type.

For CSV and TXT files sites the user can then choose which fields, and in which order, they are to be exported and specify whether the field prompts are to be included or not.

Once the template has been set-up it can be tested using sample data and be constantly tweaked until it is just right.

Finally, once the template has been proven there is a "back fill" routine, which will export all existing reports from a given date.

For more information on this routine please contact Unisoft on 0208 367 2103.
