Unisoft will include in its reports NPSA alerts in the September 2010 release

The NPSA has issued an alert for PEGs. They recommend labels being attached to the reports, be they for GPs, inpatient or patient and carers Unisoft will include these alerts automatically in the reports. And if the reports are printed on a colour printer they will be shown up in red.

The alerts will be stored in a phrase library so hospitals will be able to customise them if necessary. Then, when it has been indicated in the software that a PEG / PEJ has been inserted, a button labelled Alerts will give the endoscopist access to the phrase library to choose the appropriate wording.
